| بتر | الأبتر 108:3 'ب ت ر' وتدُورُ حَوْلَ: - القَطْعِ والاستئصالِ؛ قالَ تَعالَى (إنَّ شانِئَكَ هُوَ الأَبْترُ) - الكَوْثَرُ 3 - أىْ مُنْقَطِعُ الخَيْر وفِى الحَديثِ الشَّريفِ (كُلُّ عَمَلٍ لا يُبْدَأُ فِيهِ بِاسْمِ اللّهِ فهُوَ أَبْتَرُ) أَىْ مقطوعُ البَرَكة. * بَتَرَ فُلانٌ الشَّىْءَ يَبْتُرُهُ بَتْرًا أَىْ قَطَعَهُ وَاجْتَثَّهُ وبَتَرَ العُضْوَ مِن الجَسَدِ أى اسْتَأْصَلَهُ لِفَسادِهِ وتهديدِهِ لِبَقِيَّةِ الجَسَدِ بالتَّسَمُّمِ. انظر معجم المعاني لكلمة: بتر cut or cut off a thing before it was complete, without offspring/progeny, defective/deficient/incomplete/imperfect, in want, poor, suffering or in loss, short, cut off from prosperity or good.
